Unstoppable

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6

The promise here is one of “unstoppability”.

When you train a child in the way specifically designed for them to go, they will stay on that path as children, and still be following it into their 120s.

See what’s coming

Proverbs 22:3 KJV — A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.

Wisdom looks ahead and sees what’s coming.

Wisdom looks ahead and acts now to avoid the evil she sees coming later.

Wisdom looks ahead, sees what’s coming and acts accordingly.

Prepare the horse

Proverbs 21:31 KJV — The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.

Get your horse ready.

But don’t trust in your horse.

The horse, the slingshot, the five loaves and two fish…are just physical means through which God’s strength can be shown.

Prepare the horse so that God can ride it through you.

Plowing outside your comfort zone

Proverbs 20:4 KJV — The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.

The things you need require you to plow outside your comfort zone.

The things you need require you to go beyond the comfort zone of your physical senses.

The harvest you’ll reap is more than worth the temporary discomfort required to get it.

You are an heir

Proverbs 19:14 KJV — House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.

You are an heir.

Houses and riches and a prudent wife are part of your inheritance under the Kingdom.

Your Heavenly Father hasn’t left you with nothing.

In fact, He’s with you and He’ll never leave you nor forsake you.

Submitted to authority

He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.

Proverbs 19:16

To acknowledge a commandment is to acknowledge the authority that issued the commandment.

To submit to the commandment, permitting it to affect and order and govern your life, is to enter into fellowship with the authority that issued the commandment.

You’ve got to be under the authority in order to benefit from it.

I too am a man under authority…

Confidence = knowledge = relationship

As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

Proverbs 18:30

Confidence = knowledge = relationship.

Knowledge isn’t about the amount of information in your head. Instead, it’s about the level of intimacy that you have with that information…your relationship.

So a fake shortcut is to simply focus on the depth of your relationship with what you know, rather than on the breadth of what you know.

This applies to anything you’ll find in Creation: music, writing, sports, architecture…and there are many examples of people whose intimacy aka relationship with what they did was the secret to their success.

But the real shortcut is to focus on the depth of the intimacy you have with God, the Creator of everything.

Intimacy with God is the ultimate confidence.

Use your mouth

Proverbs 18:21 KJV — Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Don’t just wait for it happen.

Speak it into being.

Death and life are in the power of your tongue.

Follow the prescription

Proverbs 17:22 KJV — A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice. (Philippians 4:4)

Rejoice evermore. (1 Thessalonians 5:16)

Sing and make melody in your heart to the Lord. (Philippians 5:20)

Give thanks always for all things unto God. (Philippians 5:20)

That’s God’s prescription for you.

If you follow His prescription, it will do you (Spirit+Soul+Body) good.

Bring it to pass

Proverbs 16:30 KJV — He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass.

Close your eyes and imagine it.

Move your lips and bring it to pass.

See it in your heart and confess it with your mouth.

That’s how you bring things to pass, for good or for evil.

Use this for good.
