Starting from scratch

Nehemiah 6:15 KJV — So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.

There are 163 days left in the year, and many are settling for the slow and steady plod of a multi-year marathon.

But what if you could start something from scratch and finish it within the next 52 days?

What if the Lord has something monumental He wants to start and finish in the next 2 months, if only He had a human being to partner with to be His hands and feet?

What’s in your heart to do that you could launch right now?

A covenant of delight

Deuteronomy 10:15 KJV — Only the LORD had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.

The old covenant was based on God’s delight in Abraham.

The new covenant is based on God’s delight in Jesus.

The root of the Covenant is God’s delight.

And God delights in you.

You are dead

Romans 6:7 KJV — For he that is dead is freed from sin.

You’re dead, and consequently, freed from the root of sin.

All the evidence via your senses tells you that you’re alive.

But the Holy Spirit is trying to convince you of one thing: you are dead.

This defies the senses but is critical to being able to find  your identity in Christ and not in your Self.

The convincing work of the Holy Spirit

John 16:10 KJV — Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

The Holy Spirit’s job is to convince you, the born again believer, that you are righteous.

He is building cases and presenting them to the jury of your Soul (Mind+Will+Emotions) to get a unanimous conviction that you are THE righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

The Holy Spirit is using the Scriptures and all evidence that resonates with you to bring you to the place of being utterly convinced of the right standing with God that you entered into when you confessed Jesus as Lord.

He’s out to convict you, as in to bring your heart under the sentence of “dead to sin and alive to God in righteousness”.

That’s what happened when you got born again. But your ability to benefit from that reality relies on you being convicted of it in your heart.

Thank you Jesus for the Holy Spirit!

Kingdom abundance

Luke 9:17 KJV — And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.

When you bring a need to the Kingdom, the end of the matter is you receiving more than you started with.

The Kingdom’s way of life is abundance.

Stay hungry, stay foolish

1 Corinthians 1:27 KJV — But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

The world would have you be full and wise. It wants you to seek contentment and it’s ready to help applause and laudits and titles to weigh you down like Saul’s armour, entrapped by rhe acceptance and approval of men. The world is wrestling to get you to submit and conform to this mould.

But in the Kingdom, the power flows when you are weak, hungry and foolish. When you maintain your position as a Child dependent on your Heavenly Father for everything.

Stay hungry and stay foolish.

I shall not want

Psalm 23:1 KJV — A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

I shall not want for:

  • Green pastures
  • Still waters
  • Lying down/rest
  • Restoration of my soul (mind+will+emotions)
  • Protection in the valley
  • Companionship
  • Comfort
  • Provision
  • Honour in the presence of my enemies
  • Goodness and mercy
  • Security and fellowship with the Lord

Exceeding great promises

2 Peter 1:4 KJV — Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

In a world created by the Word of God, the promise is the ultimate currency.

God is the truth and He cannot lie, so when He says anything, it’s true.

But as if that weren’t enough, He’s also given us promises, self-commitals of assurance that we can mix with faith and experience.

Not just any promises, but exceeding great promises.

Greater than the offerings of Forex (GBP, USD, Yen) etc is the currency of the Word of God.

Vine-branch connection

John 15:5 KJV — I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Don’t focus on bearing fruit or being productive or accomplishing anything of significance.

Instead, focus on your connection to the Vine.

Everything else is merely a by-product of your connection to the Vine.

Stay connected to the Vine.

Hearing things

2 Kings 7:6 KJV — For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.

The wicked flee when no man pursueth, but the righteous is bold as a lion.(Proverbs 28:1).

This is the reality of those without a covenant relationship with God.

They simply need to hear the sound of something and their own imagination leads them down the path of evil surmisings.

Equally, the righteous just need to hear a whisper of a thought – why sit we here till we die – and walk in the victory that God’s already provided.

What are you hearing?
