Becometh poor

Proverbs 10:4 KJV — He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

Becometh. It’s a process.

But so is the practice of diligence which maketh rich.

Wherever you are, you’re engaged in the process of either becoming poor or being made rich.

He obeyed

Hebrews 11:8 KJV — By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

When Abraham was called by God, he obeyed.

What have you done with your call?

When God calls you to go out, make sure you obey.

The lion vs the lie-in

Proverbs 26:13 KJV — The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.

Maybe the issue isn’t the predator roaming the streets.

Maybe the issue is with the laziness of the person complaining about the lion in the street.

It’s important to recognise the difference between the two.

You might find a billion dollar opportunity that people are walking away from because of an area of slothfulness within them, rather than because of the tangible threat in the marketplace.

And if you’re dealing with a “lie-in” situation rather than a “lion” situation, all you need to do to win is get out of bed and head out onto the street.

Don’t look at what you don’t have

Romans 4:19 KJV — And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb:

Abraham didn’t focus on his inability to fulfill God’s promise to him.

Instead, he focused on God’s ability to fulfill the promises that God made.

Don’t look at what you don’t have. Believe God and magnify His ability and willingness  to act on your behalf to bless you.

Hearing is believing

Luke 16:31 KJV — And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Seeing is not believing…hearing is believing.

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God.

You don’t have an inner conviction because of what you see. Instead, you have an inner conviction and persuasion through first hearing and believing the Word of God…and then what you see confirms what you believe.

Hearing…believing…seeing.

That’s the order.

Go out without knowing

Hebrews 11:8 KJV — By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

That’s what faith does.

You hear the call, you obey the call, and you go out without knowing anything specific except that God called you.

As exposed as that may feel, that’s the strongest place to be.

Fully reliant on God.

Security clearance

Proverbs 4:23 KJV — Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Keep your heart secure, like a vault or th3 compound of the Pentagon.

Nobody can just wander in, or show up unannounced and be given access. You need to have the appropriate security clearance in order to gain access to the facility.

It’s the same with your heart (mind + will +emotions).

The “excessive” security is because of the far-reaching impact that your heart has on everything in creation.

The star led them to the house

Matthew 2:9 KJV — When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

The young child, Jesus, was in a house.

Thr star led the wise men to the house where He was.

The star’s course was charted back in Genesis 1 when the Lord “made the stars also”.

God’s ordering your steps. He knows where the house is that you’re looking for.

At least as smart as a bird

Proverbs 1:17 KJV — Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

Birds are extremely wise creatures. And the wisdom they share with us at the beginning of Proverbs is this:

When you see someone lay a trap in front of you, avoid it.

This isn’t necessarily very intellectual, but it is wise.
