Righteous runnings

Proverbs 18:10 KJV — The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Joseph ran away from Potiphar’s wife.

Elijah outran Ahab’s chariot into the entrance of Jezreel.

Peter and John raced to the tomb when they heard it was empty.

The father of the lost son ran to meet him when his son was still afar off.

The righteous run into the name of the Lord. They don’t amble, drift or take their time.

They are quick to race towards seeking refuge in God’s nature inside them.

The righteous runneth.

With excellence

Proverbs 17:7 KJV — Excellent speech becometh not a fool: much less do lying lips a prince.

There’s speech, and then there’s excellent speech.

All speech is not created equal.

All writing is not created equal.

Excellence is a by-product of who you are.

Allow God’s nature in you to direct your speech with excellence.

There’s a way to do this

Proverbs 16:17 KJV — The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.

There’s a way to do this. Things don’t just happen. Things happen through ways, reactions, consequences, processes.

There’s a way to depart from evil. There’s a way to depart from poverty. There’s a way to walk in prosperity. There’s a way to transform this situation.

You aren’t stuck.

There’s a way to do this.

And God’s promise is to lead you in the way you should go.

Be encouraged: there’s a way to do this.

God loves you

Proverbs 15:9 KJV — The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

God loves you.

Jesus died and rose again to restore your relationship with God.

And in that relationship, know this: God loves you.

Don’t be afraid of the mess

Proverbs 14:4 KJV — Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

Much increase means much mess.

Increase means dealing with the need to feed your oxen, and the need to clean up after them.

That’s part of being alive.

Enjoy it.

Don’t be afraid of dealing with the mess.

When you’re full…

Deuteronomy 8:10 KJV — When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.

…bless the Lord.

Give thanks for all the good that He’s given you.

Giving thanks in Deut 8:10 is the antidote against the poison of Deut 8:10-12.

Don’t let them slip

Hebrews 2:1 KJV — Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

Don’t let them slip.

Don’t let them pass from your mind or become something you used to know and used to do.

Don’t let them slip. Ensure that the things you’re heard put down a deep root in your heart so that they have an abundance of fruit in your life.

Don’t let them slip. Do not consent to them departing from your mouth and from your heart.

Don’t let them slip.

Take heed brethren

Hebrews 3:12 KJV — Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

Take heed brethren.

This is written to born again believers who are part of the body of Christ.

Take heed. Watch out. Be on guard against.

Don’t allow an evil heart of unbelief to develop in you.

The battle is over controlling the internal environment of your heart: Spirit and Soul (Mind + Will + Emotions).

Take heed brethren.

“Maketh rich”

Proverbs 10:4 KJV — He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

The specific phrase “maketh rich” appears 3 times in the Bible:

  • 1 Samuel 2:7…The Lord maketh poor and maketh rich…
  • Proverbs 10:4…but the hand of the diligent maketh rich…
  • Proverbs 10:22…The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it.

There is a connection between the Lord, a diligent hand and “being made rich”.

The Lord’s blessing + a diligent hand = rich

As one that has authority

Mark 1:22 KJV — And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

You’ve got authority through your submission to Jesus as Lord.

His authority is your authority.

And your assignment is to exercise His authority in the earth through everything you do.

Everything.

Whether you eat  or drink or play (or even teach), make sure you do it as one who has authority.

That authority is the difference maker.
