Break free

Proverbs 6:5 KJV — Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.

Break free. Deliver yourself. Take hold of the full provision that Jesus paid for you to have. You’ve already got everything you need for life and godliness. You just need to use what you have. It may not seem like much. But when you take the step of faith to attack the giant with your slingshot, or the debt collectors with a tiny pot of oil, or the hunger of the masses with five loaves and two fish…you will experience victory. You’re not waiting on God. God’s done His part and He’s waiting on you to use what He’s already given you.

Drink waters

Proverbs 5:15 KJV — Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.

Drink. Drink waters. Drink water out of your own cistern. Drink running waters out of your own well.

Running. Running waters. Waters in motion. Avoid stagnation. Keep in motion. Motion isn’t chaos. Motion isn’t weak. Motion is consistent. Motion is persistently forceful through its constient movement forward.

Out. Out of. Out of your own. What belongs to you? What do you own? What have you owned for yourself? Which is your well?

Well. Your well. Deep reservoir of water. You need to lower your bucket and wrestle it against gravity in order to draw what you need. This isn’t strife. This is a dance.

It’s a dance between you and the well of your covenant.

With all diligence

Proverbs 4:23 KJV — Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Get wisdom. Get understanding. Walk in the right oaths. Put instruction into a stranglehold and don’t let go. Avoid the path of evil. Attend to the Word of God like a waiter working a shift at a Michelin star restaurant. Attend to the Word of God like a secret service sniper scanning the crowds for threats through a rifle scope. Guard your heart. Cleanse your speech. Stop lying and stop listening to lies. Think about where you’re going. Assess your habits. Cut out the bad. Upgrade the good habits to maximise them. Keep showing up. Keep focused. Be taut like an abdominal six pack. Work your abdominals and forsake the abominables.

This is the energy and vibe of what it means to do things with all diligence.

Wealthy and abundant

Psalm 112:3 KJV — Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

I am wealthy and abundant. Jesus lives in me. I am wealthy and abundant. Jesus lives in me. I am wealthy and abundant. Jesus lives in me.
I am wealthy and abundant. Jesus lives in me.

And Jesus loves me.

Lean into what you care about

Proverbs 2:4 KJV — If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

If you actively lean into what you’re hoping for…you’ll find it.

Seek it like treasure. Seek it like a Pirate who is willing to take on the entire armada of the British Navy. Boarding heavily armed vessels in the dead of night, slipping past sentries, traversing creaky ship deck boards to melt into shadows and pour through locked keyholes, all to find…a treasure map that’s being kept under lock and key.

And then make that journey in reverse, without being detected, all for the chance of embarking on a journey into unknown lands, filled with giants, in order to find the treasure promised by the map.

X marks the spot.

That’s how you lean into whatever you’re hoping for, convinced of and determined to take possession of.

Passion, determination, courage and intention are the cost of entry.

Choose the Spirit

Proverbs 1:29 KJV — For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

Choose the Spirit. Choose to walk in the unseen Reality that birthed all that we sense and don’t sense. Choose to make a big deal over the truth of the Word. Choose to be preoccupied with it. Choose to transform each moment into an altar where you sacrifice your own interests and agendas in order to worship the Lord. Choose to rest in God’s love for you. Choose to receive His love.

Holy ground

Proverbs 31:3 KJV — Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

Holy ground. That’s what this moment is. Out of all the things you could be spending this precious portion of time on, you have chosen to do this.

Even more, you and the Lord are together spending time on this. You are His temple, His dwelling place and He is one spirit with you.

That’s what happened when you surrendered your life to the Lordship of Jesus. You became joined to Him. You received a new nature. You became a new creature.

You became a royal priesthood.

And as a royal priest, not only are you holy ground, but whichever space you enter becomes holy ground because of Who lives in you.

Not every activity or person is worthy of your physical presence in time and space. Some things you just don’t do because of who you are now.

And if you are doing it, spending time and space on it, then realise how special you have made this moment.

You are holy ground.

Take off your shoes and let your skin feel the ground beneath your feet.

Working with Patience

Proverbs 30:33 KJV — Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.

Let Patience do what she needs to do. Let Patience have her due. Let Patience take her time. Let Patience pack her bag, gather her tools and spend as long as she needs getting ready before you leave the house. She’s methodical. She’s determined. She’s got a strategy. She’s walking in lockstep with Wisdom and Understanding. She’s confident. She’s relentless. She’s unstoppable. She knows what needs to be done to accomplish everything that God has placed inside you to do. She will get the job done…if you’ll let her.

Take your eyes off the clock and the calendar. And let Patience have her perfect work.

Put your Trust in God

Proverbs 29:25 KJV — The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

Put your Trust in God. All of it. Let God be the basis of reality. Let God be the source of your confidence, the wind that swells your sails, the stampede of horses powering your engine. Put your trust in God. Trust in His love for you. Trust in His goodness towards you. Trust in His presence within you. Trust in His forethought on your behalf. Trust in His track record and continual performance of excellence across the seen and unseen universe. Trust in His greatness. Trust in His faithfulness. Trust in His Nowness. Trust in His scandalously generous promises. Trust in the Lord. Fully.

Be Fully Reliant On God.

Less haste more speed

Proverbs 28:20 KJV — A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

Less haste, more speed. This isn’t advocacy for procrastination. But between rushing/being in a hurry and dragging/procrastination…is speed.

Speed. Distance over time. Continuing to show up over time.

If you continue to show up over time to do the Work that’s in your heart to do, you will abound with blessings.

God’s already given them to you. You just need to show up to abound in what you already have.
