Trust your true self

Proverbs 21:5 KJV — The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.

You have a new nature in Christ.

The Word of God is the mirror that lets you see your true self.

You are diligent and your thoughts tend only to plenteousness.

See yourself in the Word and trust who God says you are.

Don’t make war without it

Proverbs 20:18 KJV — Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.

There’s a time for everything, including a time to wage a military campaign against opposition, or to recover what has been taken from you.

Don’t make war without good advice.

Wars are usually won or lost before you step onto the battlefield.

It’s easy

Matthew 11:30 KJV — For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Jesus’ yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Don’t be addicted to the hardship you’re enduring as a good soldier.

In the presence of what’s hard, remember that His yoke is easy.

The best way to work is to first enter the rest.

Believing the Word

Genesis 17:17 KJV — Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?

Yes.

Everything that God said will happen, exactly as He said it.

God delights in using the foolish things to confound the wise, the weak things to confound the strong.

Believe what God said about you. And take the effort that many spend wrestling with doubts, and use it to joyfully count the stars.

Wisdom transforms status

Proverbs 17:2 KJV — A wise servant shall have rule over a son that causeth shame, and shall have part of the inheritance among the brethren.

From a servant to an heir.

Wisdom trumps biology and heritage.

Regardless of the system of discrimination, caste and hierarchy, wisdom is the key to transcending one’s “station”.

No matter where you start, wisdom is the key to promotion and transcendence.

Directed by God

Proverbs 16:9 KJV — A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

You’re not in this by yourself.

Your steps, your  actions, are directed by God.

He directs your thinking when you commit your works to Him (Proverbs 16:3).

Pay attention to your thoughts and guard your heart.

God directs you through your line of thinking.

Soft touch

Proverbs 15:1 KJV — A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

The force of the wrath you’re facing doesn’t require an equal and opposite force.

The chemical reaction of a soft answer neutralises or diverts the wrath.

Transmutes it. Turns it away. Converts it into something else.

Emotional alchemy.

Use a soft touch with a fierce temper.

It’s more powerful than you think.

Chasing butterflies

Proverbs 14:6 KJV — A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.

That’s what it’s like when a scorner seeks wisdom.

He doesn’t understand how butterflies work. He doesn’t see that the act of chasing  after them will keep driving them away from them.

What he doesn’t know and understand is keeping him from what’s readily available to those who do.

Where are you chasing butterflies?

Going out to sow

Matthew 13:3 KJV — And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

That’s what this day is for.

Go into it to sow your seed that has the chance to grow over time.

Don’t worry

Philippians 4:6 KJV — Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Be careful for nothing.

Carry no care in your heart.

Don’t hold onto worry or anxiety.

You’re not worried, you’re feeling worried.

The real you is separate from that which would have you carrying concerned in your heart.

Like a ship sailing across the ocean, keep the water on the outside of your Hull.

Worry is not a sign of caring.

Worry is a sign that you think the solar system revolves around the earth, instead of around the sun.

You are not the sun.

Don’t worry.
