Expect to profit

Proverbs 14:23 KJV — In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

Don’t expect to just work. And don’t expect to just break even.

Expect to profit.

You are promised to have more to show for your work than before you started it.

Expect to profit. Your expectation is how you claim it.

With your whole heart

Psalm 9:1 KJV — To the chief Musician upon Muthlabben, A Psalm of David. I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.

99% isn’t 100.

“Most” of your heart isn’t “all” of your heart.

What would happen if you praised the Lord with your whole heart?

What would happen if you made the shift from some/most of your heart to “all”?

No brainer

Luke 5:11 KJV — And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

You’ve just spent all night, toiling, and catching nothing.

Jesus shows up in the morning, and gives you one instruction to obey, and you end up with more than you imagined possible.

Of course you’d forsake all to follow Him. Why wouldn’t you?

Tune out the static

John 10:27 KJV — My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

In the midst of all that you are already hearing, already pondering, already being drawn to…God is speaking to you.

Remember: you hear His voice.

God is in constant communion and fellowship and communication with you 24/7.

So where His mind and thoughts for you aren’t clear, take time to be still and tune out the static.

You don’t need more volume, you just need less background noise.

On envy

Proverbs 23:17 KJV — Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long.

Rottenness in the bones. (Prov 14:30)

Slays the silly one (Job 5:2).

Betrays the Son of God to those who seek to destroy Him.

Gathers certain lewd folks of the baser sorts to kill the Ecclessia.

Sometimes, by accident, preaches the Gospel.

Don’t let envy have any part of you.

Remember Miriam

Proverbs 12:23 KJV — A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.

Miriam said: shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?

Miriam didn’t say: hey, that’s my brother. Shall I call our mum to look after him so you can pay us?

Prudence knows which knowledge to leave out when you’re having a conversation.

Help will come from somewhere

Esther 4:14 KJV — For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

That’s a Universal law you can count on.

Whenever you are being attacked by those opposed to God’s purpose in your life, hold fast and don’t give up.

Help will come from somewhere.

It’s just a matter of time and tenacity.

Say what you hear

1 Kings 18:41 KJV — And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.

Your critics are telling you what they see.

Your situation is telling you what you see: a dry landscape that hasn’t had a drop of rain for three and a half years.

But you need to say what you hear. You need to say what the Word of God tells you about the situation.

You need to remember the collaboration between faith, hearing and speaking. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God, and death and life are in the power of your tongue.

You hear the sound of the abundance of rain. You hear that this book is going to be a world bestseller and that the back catalogue you’ve been developing in obscurity will be devoured by millions around the world.

You hear that you are more than a conqueror. You hear that you’re going to kill the giant, cut his head off with his own sword, marry the King’s daughter and pay no taxes. You hear that you’re going to live in houses you did not build with vineyards you did not plant.

That idea you’re working on is a huge deal.  You need to make a big deal of it in your heart. Hear God’s applause and encouragement and celebration. Hear the questions being asked you in interviews about the success that’s about to manifest. Hear your enemies muttering in disbelief about all the amazing things God has done through you and for you.

Hear it for yourself. And then don’t say what they see…say what you hear.

Heaven’s knocking on your door

Mark 10:15 KJV — Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

This doesn’t say: be received by the kingdom of God.

Instead, it says: receive the kingdom of God.

You’re not knock knock knocking on heaven’s door. Heaven is knocking on yours.

Open the door.

Defining diligence

Proverbs 10:4 KJV — He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

There’s the diligence of going to bed at 9pm so you can wake up at 5am and start your day 2 hours before the rest of the world starts stirring.

There’s the diligence of packing a first aid kit, sending out 10 handwritten notes a day, drinking 3 litres of water, riding your horse to physically explore the territory you saw on the map…

Diligence isn’t just one thing…and you and the Holy Spirit get to define what it means to be diligent.
