How to walk on water

Matthew 14:29 KJV — And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

Keep your eyes on the Word that told you to come.

That’s how you walk on top of what everyone else is drowning in.

God made your eyes

Proverbs 20:12 KJV — The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them.

God made your eyes, and everything He makes is good and made with excellence.

God, Who lives in you, made your eyes.

God made your eyes.

Which ‘his’ is it?

Proverbs 19:16 KJV — He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.

…but he that despiseth his ways shall die.

Which “his” are we talking about?

If it’s man, then I can see that attending to the commandment, the Word of God, means ensuring that your way of life is in keeping with the revelation of God’s word.

You don’t just allow God’s word to remain as words on a page that have no influence or impact on your day to day life.

But if it’s God, then I see that the Word of God is revealed as being “God’s ways of doing things”.

When you reject the Word, you’re rejecting God’s ways…and he that despises God’s ways shall die.

Just like Adam and Eve did.

But maybe it’s both. That’s the perfection of the Word. It’s a double-edged sword that cuts in multiple dimensions at the same time.

Weather report

Proverbs 18:12 KJV — Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.

When you see dark angry clouds in the sky, that tells you something about the weather.

Equally when you see frost on the tips of the blades of grass.

Likewise, when a person is haughty and proud…or walking in humility…that lets you know ahead of time What to expect.

Destruction and honour don’t just happen. They are signs ahead of time.

Fix and maintain your focus on Jesus

Hebrews 12:2 KJV — Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Fix and maintain your focus on Jesus. Fix it, as in mend it, and ignore everything else that’s competing for your focus. Afix it, as in place it, upon Jesus. Narrow your focus like a laser beam. Take stray disparate rays of light and focus them onto a single point. Take the strays that were aimlessly bouncing around window panes and focus them into a laser beam that can cut through stainless steel.

That’s the power of focus.

And the way you do it is by keeping the Word of God in your focus.

Take a single verse and keep meditating on it again and again and again until it comes alive in you. The day you’re entering is vying for your attention and dying to throw anything and everything between you and your single point of focus today. And if it won’t get in the way, it will try to split your focus down the middle to diffuse your laser beam.

Carnally speaking you can achieve much by having a single focus. But the full impact comes from placing your focus on the person and presence of Jesus inside you. He is with you, He is for you and your life is not your own. He only has good things for you. He has paid the price for you to walk in victory today. He became poor so that you can walk in wealth and riches today. He is with you, He is for you and He is excited about walking through each moment of this day with you.

Fix and maintain your focus on Jesus.

Building a highway

Proverbs 16:17 KJV — The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.

When you depart from evil, you’re building a highway.

You’re not building to get God, you’re building it because you and the Lord are one Spirit.

You’re building the highway so that you and the Lord can travel places together.

The right to profit

Proverbs 14:23 KJV — In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

If you’re doing the work, you have the right to expect a profit.

This isn’t entitlement. It’s integral to your Covenant with Jesus.

Resist the deception. Insist on receiving the profit of your labour.

Jesus paid for you to do this.

As a testimony to the Lord

1 Samuel 17:46 KJV — This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.

This day, you’re going to cut the Giant’s head off using his own sword. This day, you’re going to feed the carcases of the Giant’s army to the fowls of the air and the wild beats of the earth. This day, you’re going to overcome those who were oppressing you. This day you will triumph over the principalities and powers that have been exerting themselves against you through people. This day you’re going to finally and totally walk in the victory Jesus paid for.

Why?

As a testimony of what the Lord has already done through Jesus.

You’re not waiting on God to give it to you. He’s eagerly waiting on you to take it.

Go get it

Deuteronomy 8:18 KJV — But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

Go get it.

It’s yours.

Take it.
