You’re not going to do it, because “that’s just not who you are”.
The way you see yourself is the key determining factor that decides whether you will take certain actions, or not.
So…how do you see yourself?
And…how are you nurturing this version of yourself that you identify with?
Nehemiah refused to panic and take sanctuary in the temple, simply because that’s just not the sort of person he saw himself as being.
Taking the time to nurture your identity, vote for it with your actions, go on Artist dates, spending moments meditating on Scripture…all of these actions are easily dismissed as soft, theoretical and pointless intellectual actions.
And yet these actions are feeding the part of you that dictates what you will or won’t do.
Nurturing your inner person is grossly underestimated.
