Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Galatians 5:1
Instead, realise that you are already free, and that your job is to reject everything that would bring you into bondage again.
You’re not trying to break out of prison. Your work is to stand in your freedom and to reject anything that would ensnare you.
This subtle distinction is more important than it seems.
