Learning Egyptian

And they knew not that Joseph understood them; for he spake unto them by an interpreter. – Genesis 42:23

Somewhere between sharing dreams about sheaves of wheat and his brothers coming to buy grain from him…Joseph had learned Egyptian.

He learned it because of being sold as a slave into Egypt.

He used it to manage Potiphar’s household and to run the prison when he became an inmate.

He used it to have a conversation with Pharaoh that changed his life and the lives of millions around the world.

Joseph could speak Egyptian as a result of being processed by the trials and ordeals he endured.

“It was good for me that I was afflicted…” (Psalm 119:71)

Maybe the trials and tribulations you’re going through aren’t about what you’ve been complaining about.

Maybe they’re an opportunity for you to learn Egyptian…to learn skills and abilities that will enable you to effect change at a higher level.

If so, pay attention. Class is in session.

It’s another day to learn Egyptian.
