And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter. – Ruth 2:2
Ruth didn’t know she was going to happen upon a corner of a field that happened to belong to a wealthy relative of her mother-in-law. (Ruth 2:3)
Ruth didn’t know she was going to be given “handfuls of purpose” by those she was reaping behind. (Ruth 2:16)
Ruth didn’t know she was going to go from gleaning in a corner of the field, to owning the entire field- and many lands besides – when she married Boaz, the lord of the estate. (Ruth 4:13)
Ruth didn’t know she was going to be the Great Grandmother of the greatest king of Israel (Ruth 4:17)…and a named ancestor in the lineage of Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:5)
Ruth didn’t know any of that.
All she knew was that she was going to go to the field to glean corn…and see what would happen.
And what happened was that Ruth received something far greater than anything she hoped for…simply because she took a step of faith.
Now it’s your turn. Take a step of faith, make a move…and don’t allow inaction to rob you of all the amazing happenstances that you didn’t know were waiting on you.
