And he put them in ward in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound. – Genesis 40:3
The place where Joseph was bound, was the place that the Baker and the butler were brought to meet him.
The place of restriction, shame and injustice was the place of a divinely appointed connection that would bring him – and his gift – before Pharaoh.
The thing that was meant for evil was used by God to accomplish great good. (Genesis 50:20)
God didn’t sell Joseph into slavery. Joseph’s brothers did that. (Genesis 45:5)
But God did send Joseph ahead of his family in order to preserve their lives.
That’s a mystery, a thing to be uncovered.
People can do bad things to you, and God can use those bad things to position you in a place for you to fulfill your purpose.
Be careful in how you handle the places where you feel bound.
You didn’t ask for it, and it’s not fair…but keep your eyes open for the people you can serve and the connections you can make in that place of cavity.
That’s why you’re there.
