Gulo limu

And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. – Genesis 1:5

“Gulo limu.”

“Prepare it the night before.”

That’s something my Mother taught us as kids, and something she continues to live by today.

The Scripture doesn’t say “Morning and Evening.”

It says: Evening and Morning.

Evening first, followed by Morning.

And in between Evening and Morning…is a 7 or 8-hour stretch of sleep.

Evening >> SLEEP >> Morning

Plant seeds in the Evening, allow them to grow while you Sleep, and then reap the harvest in the Morning.

If you’re learning a language (Swahili, French, Mandarin etc), learn the words in the Evening, allow your brain to process them as you Sleep, and then review them in the Morning.

The same holds true for planning your day, setting goals, solving problems, and even making a packed lunch.

Gulo limu.

Prepare it the night before.

As an aside, Hebrews 11:3 talks about “the worlds being framed by the word of His power”.

This got me wondering: what would happen if I bookmarked/framed my day with the Word of God?

What would happen if I read a Scripture right before going to bed and then the same Scripture (or different) in the Morning?

I think the answer is that: Psalm 1, Joshua 1:8, Psalm 112:3 and Jeremiah 17:8 would suddenly start to kick in.

The Word of God is powerful. And if you’ll give yourself to it, and let it have full access to you, it (the Word) will transform you from the inside out.

I’ll track what happens here on the blog.

But remember:

Gulo limu.

Prepare it the night before.
