Remember very

To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth. God isour refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. – Psalm 46:1

The key word that’s easy to forget in this verse is “very”.

Very.

me’ôd.

Drjfk

Exceedingly, much.

Might, force, abundance.

Muchness, force, abundance.

Up to abundance.

Vehemently. Speedily.

To a great degree.

That’s the kind of help you have with you and in you.

If you’re simply grateful that God is a help in time of trouble…then you’re like the person who eats food without tasting flavours.

He’s not just your help.

He’s your “very” present help.

Make sure your level of expectation is in line with the magnitude of this truth.
