The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. – Jeremiah 31:3
God’s love for you is scandalous.
He loves you with no regard for other people’s opinions of you or even of your own opinions of you.
Because you are in Christ, He doesn’t see the negative things, the mistakes and shortcomings that you’re focused on.
He just loves you completely as you are. No buts, no “if onlys” and no disappointments.
That’s the scandal.
Sure, His love will transform you and change you.
But you don’t change in order for Him to love you.
Instead, you rest in His scandalous, no-strings-attached love for you…and that love transforms you.
