After 3 years

Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. – Galatians 1:18

Where will you be 3 years from now?

How about a year, or 7 or 25 from now?

As Ramit Sethi often says: the time is going to pass anyway. The only question is how you’re going to deal with the inevitable passage of time.

One approach is to just let it happen. Let whatever will be, be. After all, you never know what’s going to happen, right?

Another approach is to dare to build something or grow something or prepare for something that requires that space of time.

You could write a page a day and have a novel 2 years from now.

You could plant an orchard and have a thousand apple trees, 30 years from now.

You could get married, get pregnant and have a house full of 27 great grand children 70 years from now.

You could choose to create your tomorrow through the choices you make today.

If you have to have it yesterday, or before Noon on Friday, then you’ll be frustrated.

But if you shift your focus to 3 years or a decade from now, and work towards that, you’ll be amazed at how the day to day crises that you’re reacting to will get in line with your vision.

The time is going to pass anyway…What are you going to do with it?
