Wind and clouds

He that observes the wind shall not sow; and he that regards the clouds shall not reap. – Ecclesiastes 11:4

Wind and clouds.

The threat of potential danger and imminent failure.

You feel compelled to pursue your idea, but…

I know this is what I should do, however…

This would be perfect, except for…

On the other end of that but/however/except for…are the wind and clouds.

Jesus said in this world we’d have trouble (aka wind and clouds), but that we should be of good cheer, because He has overcome the world.

Peter was doing the impossible, walking on water, until he took his eyes off The Word and began to observe/ponder/meditate/anticipate/respond to the wind and waves that were around him when he stepped out of the boat.

The wind and clouds are the things that scare you from even taking a step in the direction you’re lead into. But their real purpose is to act as a signpost for your destiny.

The tension they create is designed to get you to pay attention to the opportunity in front of you.

Yes, you could be overwhelmed by the threat of the wind and clouds. But then again, you could overcome them to achieve an amazing outcome.

You could sling a stone at Goliath, miss, and have him completely annihilate you. But then again, you could take the step of going after him with what you have, and see God multiply your efforts to give you an unlikely victory.

Mario Andretti, the world famous Grand Prix racer once said: If everything seems under control, you’re not going fast enough.

And if you don’t see the wind and clouds, you haven’t found your destiny.

The wind and clouds are not a bad thing. They’re a sign that you’re on the right path, and a confirmation that you’re on the verge of realising your destiny.

Take your eyes off the wind, waves, cloud and troubles all around you…and focus on the power of the seed in your hand that is just waiting on you giving it a chance to be sown into the ground.
