And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. – Romans 4:21
Romans 4:3 says that Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness.
In other words, the simple act of believing God put Abraham in right standing with God.
But this simple act of “believing” is unpackaged in verse 21 with two words:
Fully persuaded.
Not just persuaded, but fully persuaded. 100%. Beyond a critical threshold or tipping point.
The distinction that someone is “fully persuaded” implies that it is possible for a person to be less than fully persuaded…partially persuaded.
Maybe the issue isn’t that you don’t believe…but that you’re not fully persuaded.
You’ve not turned the volume all the way up. You’ve not burned the bridges in your mind to considering any other alternative. You’ve not yet reached escape velocity. You’ve not yet crossed the tipping point.
This is really good news.
Because all you have to do is take the belief you already have…and dare to let it fill you up till there’s no room for anything else.
Dare to allow yourself to be fully persuaded.
It’s the key to experiencing everything God’s promised you.
