The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field. – Proverbs 27:26
Use your assets to pay for your liabilities.
That’s one of the powerful lessons from Rich Dad.
It’s also one of the key lessons from this verse in Proverbs.
Lambs are for thy clothing.
Lambs lead to clothes. But you’ve got to wait for the lambs to become sheep that produce wool that you can use for clothes…either directly, or by selling the wool and using the money to buy the clothes from someone else.
…the goats are the price of the field.
The goats are an asset you can leverage to obtain the money to purchase a field…another potential asset. Maybe you sell them, maybe you sell their milk. In any case, you don’t just go and buy the field yourself. You use your assets to provide the money to pay for your assets and liabilities.
Wear oven gloves when you’re taking a casserole dish out of the oven. Wear a seatbelt when you’re driving a car. Look both ways before crossing a road.
And when you want to buy something, use your lambs and goats to get the money that you need.
