Beaten for the light

Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually. – Leviticus 24:2

The olives were planted, nurtured, protected and harvested. They were then beaten, pounded, crushed and ground down in a mortar…just to transform them into pure olive oil. This oil was thenĀ used to fuel lamps that were ordered to be kept burning continually…forever shining a light on the world around them.

The olives had to endure hardship and painful crushing for a moment, so they couldĀ be positioned to shine a light for eternity.

That’s their story…and it’s yours as well.

Selah.
