while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. – 2 Corinthians 4:18
Are you looking at the crisis, or are you looking at the opportunities hidden within that crisis?
Are you looking at the typos, or are you looking at the first draft that you’ve managed to complete against all odds?
Are you looking at the messiness, or are you looking at the love?
Are you looking at how long it’s taking, or are you looking at how much you’re growing?
Are you looking at how hard it’s been, or are you looking at how tough you’ve become to still be alive under this much pressure?
Are you looking at the restrictions on your time/energy/money/etc or are you looking at the creative solutions that are being catalysed by the gift of these beautiful limitations?
Are you looking at your 10+ year-long string of failures with shame…or with excitement, remembering: if you fail more than everyone else, then you win?
Are you looking at the light afflictions, or are you looking at the exceeding weight of glory?
What’re you looking at?
