But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.” – Luke 1:20
On earth as it is in Heaven.
There’s an interplay between these two worlds along the lines of the Scriptures.
The Word is sown from Heaven into the fertile ground of the Earthly realm, and the Word produces a harvest in the Earthlies that was called for in the Heavenlies.
Despite man’s apathy, Heaven is obsessed over ensuring that every Word spoken comes to pass in its own time. In fact, Jeremiah 1:12 says that God watches carefully over His word to perform it.
The impetus behind this obsession is because God’s Word is greater than God Himself. In other words, if He has said it, then – like King Darius in Daniel 6:15 – God is powerless to go against His own word.
And looking at the structure of the prayers in Scripture, their chief argument/line of appeal is usually that of reminding God of what He said, and asking Him to keep His Word.
Those seemed to be the prayers He responded to.
Maybe it’s because He’s looking for us to become as obsessed as He us over seeing Scripture fulfilled.
