Return on trust

The one who had received the two talents also came, saying, “Master, you entrusted two talents to me. Look, I have gained two more.’ – Matthew 25:22

R.O.I vs R.O.T.

Return on investment (ROI) vs Return on trust (ROT).

God’s interest isn’t simply in the profit you have left, but rather the response that the profit (or loss) gives to His question:

What did you do with what I entrusted to you?

He gave it to you because He knew what you could do with it that nobody else could. God knows what you’re capable of and He also sees the circumstances/obstacles/excuses that you blame for why you haven’t done what you know you can do.

But remember, God never starts something until He’s already completed it.

And He took all of those issues into account when He gave you what He gave you…because He knows you’ve got what it takes.

Trust that you are enough and have enough to express all the talents that you’ve buried underneath layers of fear and low self-esteem.

And then just do what you can with what you have right now…because that’s what God designed you to succeed at doing.

Selah.
