One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” He said to them, “When you pray, say…” – Luke 11:1-2
2 quick thoughts.
When you pray, not if you pray, because prayer is taken as a given.
Also, “When you pray, say…”
He didn’t say “When I pray, I say…” Instead, He’s us instructed them in what they should do when they pray.
“Train up a child in the way he should go…” (Proverbs 22:6)
