You, however, are not under the control of the human nature but under the control of the Spirit, since God’s Spirit lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of the Messiah, he does not belong to him. – Romans 8:9
Everything is under the control of something. There is no neutral zone.
And when you become born again, a new nature – the Spirit – invades the essence of you and takes control.
In other words, how you feel and what you think are no longer the driving forces in your life…If the Spirit of God lives in you.
And if the Spirit lives in you, He’s there in a position of Authority with the goal of establishing Kingdom realities in you and through you in absolutely everything.
You don’t have a choice in the matter. In fact, the only way you became born again was by laying down the control of your life and surrendering it to Jesus as Lord.
And all of this is great news.
Because as you go about your day to day business, you have the absolute rocks old confidence that everything about you is under the control of the Spirit who lives in you.
The ‘glitches’ when you appear to given into intense “phantom cravings” from the old, dead, fleshly nature, are simply the moments when you forget who you are.
This isn’t something you need to strive for in your own strength.
No.
It’s God’s nature within you that has complete sovereignty and total control over everything you do.
Set your mind to this Reality…and let the Spirit keep everything under control.
