Let the words from the book of the law be always on your lips. Meditate on them day and night so that you may be careful to live by all that is written in it. If you do, as you make your way through this world, you will prosper and always find success. – Joshua 1:8
Do nothing. Retreat. Be normal. Take massive actions.
These are your 4 options in any given situation. And, as Grant Cardone (author of The 10X Rule) argues, taking massive action is supposed to be our default setting as human beings.
Massive action = Normal.
Anything else = Abnormal
In this light, many of the “weird and excessive” parts of Scripture make sense…passages like Joshua 1:8
“Let the words from the book of the law be always on your lips. Meditate on them day and night”
Level 1 = That’s nice
Level 2 = Never!
Level 3 = Hmm, that sounds a bit excessive
Level 4 (Massive action) = InthebeginningGodcreatedtheheavensandtheearth*Muttering like a weirdo*
In the same way that a bright red suit would look “weird” and out of place at a black-tie event…taking massive action in a room of complacent, sluggish and indifferent people will make you look like an absolute certifiable “weirdo”.
But to paraphrase the famous saying: if you’re willing to spend a moment doing what most people won’t, you’ll spend the rest of your life living like most people can’t.
Or put another way:
Look like a Weirdo, live like a King.
