Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. – Matthew 5:16
John tells us that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5)
At the same time, we understand that in the beginning, the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. (Genesis 1:2)
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. (Genesis 1:3)
So we have One who is light, and has no darkness within Him, facing a situation of darkness without Him.
And the way He transfers the light within Him into the darkness without Him?
He speaks.
He sends forth a Word, and that Word conveys the light within Him into the darkness without Him.
Now, you are the light of the world; the radiance of the kosmos that enables men to see that which exists but was not visible in darkness.
You are the agent that stimulates light and makes things visible.
You are the understanding of a problem or mystery.
You are a form of energy that makes it possible to see things.
You are that which travels 186,000 miles/second across a vacuum…and then hits the point of focus in a child’s magnifying glass to spark a blazing fire.
You are the entire electromagnetic spectrum of visible and invisible light: radio waves, microwaves, infra red light, visible light, ultraviolet light, X-rays and Gamma rays.
You are…the light of the kosmos.
And your assignment is to let the brilliance of who you actually are…shine before men.
How?
By continually speaking out who you are…and letting that Word change what you see.
