Only believe

As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. – Mark 5:36

Only believe.

Only.

Like an only child.

No one else to play with.

No one else to share the attention with.

Nothing else to set the agenda.

Only.

Just you and belief.

Just you and pisteuō…confidence, conviction, trust and being fully persuaded.

No room for phobeō…fear, terror, to treat with deference or reverential obedience.

Don’t be in awe of the giants who’ve come to scare you away from your dream.

Don’t be alarmed by all the startling facts of the situation…like a crowd of weeping mourners telling you your dream is dead.

Only…solely…believe.

Believe the Word of the One Who lives in you.

Believe that He is able to perform that which He promised.

Believe that the Holy Spirit knows how to bring out the best in you.

Believe that the same God Who chased you down when you were estranged from Him isn’t going to abandon you now that you’re in the Family.

Believe.

Only believe.

Believe.
