Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. – Joshua 1:2
For the children of Israel, Moses was the best thing since sliced bread…a few thousands years ahead of the invention of sliced bread.
Moses led them out of Egypt.
Moses led them across the Red Sea.
Moses brought an end to over 400 years of slavery.
And then Moses, the servant of the Lord…died.
His time came to an end.
What had brought the Israelites up to the Promised Land was no longer there to take them into the Promised Land.
What got them here would not be what took them there.
And that was okay.
Because they had Joshua.
And that’s okay, because as amazing as the old thing was, God’s got a Joshua and a Caleb anmany other new “best things” that He can use to help you possess your Promised Land.
Even though you don’t have Moses, you can still go in to possess it with Joshua.
