This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. – Joshua 1:8
This heart of your body shall not depart from your chest, but it shall remain therein beating day and night that it may observe to maintain your blood circulation…for then you will make your way prosperous and have good success.
In order to make your way prosperous, you need to be alive.
And in order to be alive, you need a functioning heart that never stops pumping blood around your body…even while you sleep.
That’s the relationship you need to cultivate with the Word of God.
Keep it circulating round your mind and in your mouth.
Keep picturing yourself in it. Allow your imagination the opportunity to create feature films and productions based on what is written.
120/80 is a normal heart rate. What about your Word rate?
If your Word rate is a verse a day from your “morning devotional”, see how you can push it further.
How can you take that verse and chew on it all through the day as if your life depended on it?
What if that one verse became the soundtrack or the pulse of your day, where everything else was made to fit around it?
What if the simple technical exercise of increasing your “Word intensity” was the key to everything changing? Would that make your prioritise the Word of God above everything else?
Keep the Word in your mind and on your lips…constant like your heart beat.
