A Friend in high places

Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure. – Psalm 147:5

They say it’s not what you know, but who you know. And in the Google-powered, Überified Connection economy we live in, it’s also about “who knows you”.

But whether it’s about who you know, or who knows you, you need to remember that you are connected to God.

You are one spirit with Him. And He is not just somebody who is part of your network.

He is the Lord, He is great, He is abundant in power, He has understanding beyond measure…and He’s on your side.

So those worries and cares that you’re fretting over? They’re wearing you down by talking to you about what they’ll do to you if you don’t do what they want you to do…and they’re doing that because you’re not talking back to them.

Instead of taking their trash talk, try dishing out some of your own.

Tell those bills/worries about the God that you serve. Tall about His love for you. Brag about how you’re seated in heavenly places in Christian Jesus. Warn them out loud that they’d better get out of here before your Dad shows up to deal with them.

You’re not alone in this. You’ve got a Friend in high places.
