Meditate on these things; give yourself wholly to them; that your profiting may appear<\/strong><\/em> to all. – 1 Timothy 4:15<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

When Michelangelo was asked how he managed to turn a block of marble stone into a beautiful masterpiece sculpture of King David, his response was apparently 14 simple words:<\/p>\n

“It’s easy. You just chip away the stone that doesn’t look like David.”<\/p>\n

Blatant in his response is the revelation that the sculpture of David existed as an entity before he even began carving the marble.<\/p>\n

His actions and craftsmanship were simply the means of unveiling the brilliant masterpiece that was trapped within it. <\/p>\n

In other words, he was not working to make a masterpiece…he was working to manifest the masterpiece that already existed in an unseen realm.<\/p>\n

That’s what 1 Timothy 4:15 is talking about when it expresses the concern that “your profiting may appear to all.”<\/p>\n

The Greek word rendered as “appear” is the word “phaneros”,  which means to be apparent, to be made manifest, to be plainly recognised or known.<\/p>\n

And that which is to be made manifest…is your profiting aka your advancement, progress, furtherance and profit.<\/p>\n

You are already successful, you are already wealthy, you are already healthy, you are already walking in the miraculous and impacting nations, you are already turning the world upside down with brilliant innovations, you are already beautiful, resplendent, joyful, glorious and deeply loved beyond anything imaginable.<\/p>\n

Why?<\/p>\n

Because: “Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life – even though invisible to spectators – is with Christ in God.” (Colossians 3:3, MSG)<\/p>\n

Once you know that in your spirit, in the centre of who you really are, then all you have to do to manifest its reality…is chip away everything that doesn’t look like you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
