Proverbs 19:16 KJV \u2014 He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.<\/strong>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…but he that despiseth his ways shall die.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which “his” are we talking about?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If it’s man, then I can see that attending to the commandment, the Word of God, means ensuring that your way of life is in keeping with the revelation of God’s word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don’t just allow God’s word to remain as words on a page that have no influence or impact on your day to day life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But if it’s God, then I see that the Word of God is revealed as being “God’s ways of doing things”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you reject the Word, you’re rejecting God’s ways…and he that despises God’s ways shall die.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just like Adam and Eve did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But maybe it’s both. That’s the perfection of the Word. It’s a double-edged sword that cuts in multiple dimensions at the same time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
