{"id":4636,"date":"2026-06-01T20:09:33","date_gmt":"2026-06-01T20:09:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/davesali.wordpress.com\/?p=4636"},"modified":"2026-06-01T20:09:33","modified_gmt":"2026-06-01T20:09:33","slug":"dont-forget-the-context","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/savedali.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/01\/dont-forget-the-context\/","title":{"rendered":"Don&#8217;t forget the context"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Proverbs 1:7 KJV \u2014 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you take the &#8220;<strong>text<\/strong>&#8221; out of &#8220;con<strong>text<\/strong>&#8220;, all you&#8217;re left with is a <strong>con.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Proverbs 1:7-10, we have a progression from the fear of the LORD, to submitting to the authority of parents, and then exercising your authority to &#8220;consent not&#8221; to go with sinners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You submit to authority so that you can exercise authority. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You submit to the authority of Jesus when you get born again (Romans 10:9-10) and so you are able to exercise His authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Things surrender to you because of your surrender to Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And now, your context is as one who is dead to sin and alive to God in righteousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your context is as one whose life is not your own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your context is as one who is seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remember your context.
