So maybe your vision isn&#8217;t clear because of who you are still in relationship with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But rather than the typical criticism about how Abram\/Abraham shouldn&#8217;t have taken Lot with him in the first place, there&#8217;s another insight here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes separation takes time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It sometimes takes time to separate the real you from the old you. It takes time to separate Abram from Abraham. It takes time to replace guilt-ridden obligations (looking after your dead brother Haran&#8217;s son) with the impracticalities of proximity: the land is unable to sustain both of us staying together (Genesis 13:6)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes it takes time to be able to say goodbye to Lot. But that&#8217;s okay. This is a journey.
