The Hebrew word for darkness is the same word for obscurity.<\/p>\n

Ch\u00f4sek.<\/p>\n

“Darkness, obscurity and secret place”.<\/p>\n

Right from the beginning, God shows a propensity for creating things in the dark, in obscurity.<\/p>\n

Babies grow in an enclosed womb.<\/p>\n

Seeds germinate underground.<\/p>\n

Birds hatch out of eggs.<\/p>\n

Sharks swim in the depths of the ocean.<\/p>\n

Israel is birthed out of an old barren couple.<\/p>\n

Joseph the Prince of Egypt is developed in the obscurity of the pit, the house of Potiphar and the prison, with all their attendant dramas.<\/p>\n

David the King of Israel is developed in the obscurity of looking after sheep in the wilderness.<\/p>\n

All throughout Scripture, we see God developing and creating things in the darkroom of obscurity.<\/p>\n

The same is true for you.<\/p>\n

Your life is not your own.<\/p>\n

And because you’re born again, you have a Covenant with God where He has promised to live in you, direct your steps and “never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).<\/p>\n

This means that you are never by yourself in any situation.<\/p>\n

And this means that when you find yourself in the dark, you have the assurance of being with the One who specialises in turning a dark place into a darkroom…to develop you into the picture He had in mind.<\/p>\n
