But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God <\/span><\/span>are<\/em> <\/span>alive every one of you this day.<\/span> – Deuteronomy 4:4<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Cleave.<\/p>\n

Cling to.<\/p>\n

Stick to.<\/p>\n

Adhere strongly to.<\/p>\n

Remain true to.<\/p>\n

Be faithful to.<\/p>\n

Become very strongly involved with or emotionally attached to (someone).<\/p>\n

That’s the posture you need to have towards your relationship with God.<\/p>\n

Don’t be casual about it and don’t take it for granted, especially because you’re born again and under a new Covenant.<\/p>\n

It’s said that familiarity breeds contempt, and contempt can cause you to disregard and shut yourself out of the amazing blessings God has given you.<\/p>\n

The antidote is to cleave to God.<\/p>\n

Cleave to Him, cleave to His word and refuse to be casual about Him.<\/p>\n

It isn’t considered cool to cleave to God. In fact, it’s been stigmatized by being thrown into the same box as “fanaticism”.<\/p>\n

Be that as it may, you don’t have to conform to the patterns you see playing out around you.<\/p>\n

Instead, you can be transformed by quietly committing to cleave to God by cleaving to His word.<\/p>\n

This posture is why you will still be alive and thriving even when others aren’t.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
