How can I make things better?<\/p>\n

That’s a powerful question that can help you see the options available.<\/p>\n

Yes, things are bad, but how can I improve things…even by 1%?<\/p>\n

But one of the traps that you need to watch out for is being seduced by the idea of “perfect”.<\/p>\n

Perfect is the enemy of better.<\/p>\n

That’s because perfection is something that isn’t something you can control or guarantee…given all the variables involved. Also, your definition of “perfect” will change over time.<\/p>\n

But what’s more useful is simply focusing on how to make things better.<\/p>\n

Better than they are right now.<\/p>\n

That’s something you can measure, and that’s something you can work on, regardless of your situation.<\/p>\n

The stress comes when you try to make the leap from “here” to “perfect”.<\/p>\n

The breakthrough comes when you take your eyes off the mirage of perfection, and enjoy the step by step journey of simply making things better than they are right now.<\/p>\n

“Perfect” may end up being your destination.<\/p>\n
