Do not be deceived: \u201cBad company corrupts good character.\u201d – 1 Corinthians 15:33<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

If anyone offers you something that is “99.9% chocolate cake”, the logical response is to ask: what’s in the 0.1%?<\/p>\n

And if the answer is: dog poop or poison, then no matter how much you want to eat the cake…don’t eat the cake.<\/p>\n

The 0.1% that could harm you negates the effect of the 99.9% that could bless you.<\/p>\n

99.9% brilliant school teacher + 0.1% child abuser = no deal.<\/p>\n

99.9% fun friendship + 0.1% dream killer = no deal.<\/p>\n

The counterargument of “nobody is perfect” is misleading, particularly when “perfect” is used to mean inerrant or without flaw, rather than “complete”.<\/p>\n

This isn’t about perfection. This is about the combination of two forces, where the negative effects of the one completely obliterate the potential benefits of the other.<\/p>\n

But bigger than this, is the fact that you don’t have to settle for 99.9% chocolate cake…when you can easily have 100% chocolate cake.<\/p>\n

And even if you don’t like chocolate cake, at least you know what you’re dealing with when you insist on 100%…instead of settling for 99.9%.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
