For wisdom <\/span><\/span>is<\/i> <\/span>better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.<\/span> – Proverbs 8:11<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Wisdom is a person.<\/p>\n

She’s not a thing for you to acquire or just the “quality of having experience, knowledge and good judgement”.<\/p>\n

No, she’s an actual person who Solomon wants us to have an intimate, personal acquaintance with. (Proverbs 1:2)<\/p>\n

And she doesn’t move alone.<\/p>\n

She lives with Prudence (Proverbs 8:12) and is often seen holding hands with Understanding (Proverbs 8:1).<\/p>\n

She also helps Kings to reign, has riches and honor…And she’s a lot older than she appears (Proverbs 8:23).<\/p>\n

But there are 2 really important things you need to know about her.<\/p>\n

The first thing is that she loves those who love her, and is only found by those who are serious about seeking her. (Proverbs 8:17)<\/p>\n

In other words, Wisdom is only interested in those who really want her…And the proof of your desire is revealed by the intensity of your pursuit.<\/p>\n

Which leads to the second thing you need to know about Wisdom in order to find her:<\/p>\n

Wisdom…is the Word of God.<\/p>\n

Put simply: you can find Wisdom hiding in plain sight within the pages of your Bible.<\/p>\n

She drops huge clues about this when she talks about being with God in the beginning (Proverbs 8:22), which relates to John 1:1…<\/p>\n

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.”<\/p>\n

And when you connect this with 1 Cor 1:30, we see that Jesus (who is the Word made flesh) was made Wisdom for us:<\/p>\n

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So:<\/p>\n

Wisdom = Person = Jesus = Word of God<\/p>\n

This will seem weird to a person who only thinks with a natural mind (1 Corinthians 2:14).<\/p>\n

But for a person who is born again and alive in their spirit, they get <\/i>that Hebrews 4:12 and Colossians 3:16 are talking about a living, sentient being who is “quick and powerful and sharper than any twoedged sword”…and eager to “dwell in you richly in all wisdom”.<\/p>\n

This is really exciting.<\/p>\n

Because when you understand that the Word of God is a Person, then you have the excitement of engaging with Someone who will respond to you as you study the Scriptures.<\/p>\n

Someone who has riches, honour and wants to fill your treasures. (Proverbs 8:21)<\/p>\n

So as foolish as it may sound to the natural man, your Bible contains a living Person who wants to talk to you.<\/p>\n

It’s a Person called Wisdom…And she’s ready to help you if you’re willing to listen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
