{"id":3459,"date":"2017-02-27T09:20:07","date_gmt":"2017-02-27T09:20:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/davesali.wordpress.com\/?p=3459"},"modified":"2017-02-27T09:20:07","modified_gmt":"2017-02-27T09:20:07","slug":"because-of-what-almost-killed-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/savedali.com\/index.php\/2017\/02\/27\/because-of-what-almost-killed-you\/","title":{"rendered":"Because of what almost killed you\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>\u200b<span style=\"background-color:rgb(253,254,255);color:rgb(0,19,32);font-family:Arial, sans-serif;font-size:17.6px;\">By this I know that you favor me, because my enemy does not triumph over me. &#8211; Psalm 41:11<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"background-color:rgb(253,254,255);color:rgb(0,19,32);font-family:Arial, sans-serif;font-size:17.6px;\">Many times, favour is defined by the good things that happen to you:&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color:rgb(253,254,255);color:rgb(0,19,32);font-family:Arial, sans-serif;font-size:17.6px;\">the parents you were born to, how tall\/short\/fat\/thin you are, where you went to school, the opportunities you were given, the &#8220;lucky break&#8221; you got from years of preparation meeting a unique opportunity etc<\/span><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#001320\" face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:17.6px;background-color:rgb(253,254,255);\">But a more powerful lens for viewing favour is by looking at all the bad things that <i>should <\/i>have happened to you, but didn&#8217;t.&nbsp;<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#001320\" face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:17.6px;background-color:rgb(253,254,255);\">In other words: the presence of a powerful enemy who failed to defeat you is a more powerful testimony than the presence of friends and allies who celebrate you.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#001320\" face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:17.6px;background-color:rgb(253,254,255);\">Never being involved in an accident is one thing. Continually being involved in accidents where you keep surviving is&#8230;something else.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#001320\" face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:17.6px;background-color:rgb(253,254,255);\">Never being abused is one thing. Enduring abuse for years and surviving numerous failed attempts on your life&#8230;is evidence of &#8220;a Higher power&#8221; (God) watching out for you despite the odds against you.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#001320\" face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:17.6px;background-color:rgb(253,254,255);\">Usually Satan tries to wrap you up in guilt, shame or self-chasitisement when these moments happen&#8230;getting you to blame yourself for being involved in a bad situation, &nbsp;instead of celebrating God for delivering you out of it again.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#001320\" face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:17.6px;background-color:rgb(253,254,255);\">The real testimony of favour is the long list of things that should have killed you, but didn&#8217;t.&nbsp;<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#001320\" face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:17.6px;background-color:rgb(253,254,255);\">You are favoured.
