\u200bAnd he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. – Psalm 1:3<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Word doesn’t say what kind of tree. It just says he shall be like <\/i>a tree.<\/span><\/p>\n

Who?<\/span><\/p>\n

The person talked about in Psalm 1:1-2.<\/span><\/p>\n

This person’s “don’ts” are covered in verse 1: <\/span><\/p>\n

doesn’t live by the advice of those who don’t think like God…doesn’t live like those who are alienated from God’s nature…and doesn’t sit with those who mock and scorn.<\/span><\/p>\n

The “dos” are in verse 2:<\/span><\/p>\n

Delights in the law of the Lord…Meditates on it day and night.<\/span><\/p>\n

This person is shall be like a tree. A tree that begins life as a seed buried in obscurity. Watered and sunned, protected from being devoured. Quietly putting down roots in the places that nobody sees.<\/span><\/p>\n

By the time they <\/i>wee anything above the ground, the root system will be firmly in place.<\/font><\/p>\n

And then it might be gradual developments of shoot into trunk into branches and leaves of a maturing tree.<\/font><\/p>\n

Or maybe it will be the story of the bamboo tree. Nothing visible above the ground for 4 years, and then suddenly shooting up to 90ft in the 5th year.<\/font><\/p>\n

Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing…and then everything.<\/font><\/p>\n

Growing when it looked as if nothing was happening.<\/font><\/p>\n

You are a tree that’s been planted by the waters of the Word. Keep drinking it in and letting it do the work in you.<\/font><\/p>\n

Before you know it, those who had written you off will be seeking shade and shelter under your canopy.<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
