And he must needs go through Samaria. – John 4:4

A full-length feature film is a 3-part sequence of 40 scenes.

40.

Where each scene is between 2 to 3 minutes long…which is 2 to 3 pages long of a standardly formatted script.

1 page per minute.

And in budget terms it costs about $1 million to shoot each page of a film script.

In fact, some Hollywood producers don’t even bother reading through the script initially. They just hold the script in their hand and gently weigh the weight of the stack of pages in their hands.

In an instant they can tell if the script is over budget or not. They can instantly get a measure of how well the screenwriter had used his or her quota of 40 scenes.

Which is important; because you only get 40.

40 like the 40 days and nights spent by Noah and creation weathering the flood that was ravaging the earth.

40 like the 40 years spent by Moses chasing and being trained by stubborn sheep in the wilderness.

40 like the 40 days and nights spent by the Word in the wilderness before His rendezvous with the Tempter…and the launch of His 3 year public ministry as the Christ.

A ministry which included an obligatory scene, where “he must needs go through Samaria.”

The Word only did what He saw the Father do. And the Word was lead by the Spirit who leads all those born of God.

There are scenes that require your specific involvement. There are scenarios that have been orchestrated with specifically you in mind. There are obligatory scenes that are actively seeking you out so that you can act your part in them.

You can Know this by the Spirit.

And when you Know it, you can rest in this Knowledge and watch how the Spirit uses that Knowledge to draw you out from where you are to where God needs you to be.

Why?

Because you must needs go through Samaria.
