Going out to sow

Matthew 13:3 KJV — And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; That’s what this day is for. Go into it to sow your seed that has the chance to grow over time.

Don’t worry

Philippians 4:6 KJV — Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Be careful for nothing. Carry no care in your heart. Don’t hold onto worry or anxiety. You’re not worried, you’re feeling worried. The real you is separate from that …

You are not a puppet

Psalm 119:59 KJV — I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies. You have agency. You have the ability to think about your ways, your habits, your manner of life, and turn your feet to line up with God’s way of doing things. You are not a puppet.

Making or becoming

Proverbs 10:4 KJV — He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich. Making is active and proactive. Becoming is passive, the result of inaction and slackness. There’s no neutral zone. Which one are you engaged with right now?

Building not stealing

Proverbs 9:1 KJV — Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars: Wisdom builds her house (Proverbs 9:1). The foolish woman steals (Proverbs 9:17). Are you building or stealing?

At your fingertips

Proverbs 7:3 KJV — Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart. That’s where you need to keep the Word of God. At the ready, ready to use. At your fingertips and under your fingernails. The hands reveal what you’ve been working on all day.

Snared by the words that you say

Proverbs 6:2 KJV — Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth. …and snared by the words that you don’t say. Words are double-edged swords that cut both ways in speech and in silence. Death and life are in the power of the tongue.

Serving the word

Proverbs 5:1 KJV — My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding: Attend to it, like a waiter in a restaurant or a barrista in a coffee shop. Your job is to attend unto the Word of God.
