Proverbs 8:22 KJV — The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.
Imagine a beginner playing a game of chess against a chess grandmaster. All things being equal, who do you think would win?
Now, imagine the same scenario with one key difference.
The beginner has the power to pause time and spend a million years trying out every possibility, talking to other people, getting advice, using AI devices, playing entire games through to their conclusion…and then unpause time and come back to make their next move. And he gets to do this on every move throughout the entire game.
A million years per move.
In Proverbs 8 we see that God was thinking through every aspect of creation for millions, billions, quadrillions of years…before He opened His mouth and said “Light, be.” (Genesis 1:2)
God has thought through every single permutation of everything that can happen. He’s not just thought about it, but He’s used wisdom and understanding in the way He thought about everything.
So when He says something that seems “simple” or “silly” to you…pay attention.
God has thought this thing out way more than you, or I ever will.
And He loves us.
So whatever He says to you, do it.
