Not “now”…but “soon”

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: – Revelation 1:1

An hour is a long time to wait for a toaster to toast a slice of bread, but it’s a ridiculously short time to travel across the breadth of the Atlantic Ocean…at least right now.

“Soon” is a function of context and expectations.

What’s happening, and what are your expectations in this moment?

Over 2,000 years after Revelation 1:1, many of the events described by John haven’t appeared yet.

And yet Scripture says that these are things that must “shortly come to pass”.

2,000 years doesn’t feel like “shortly” or soon to most people.

But when your perspective of time is such that a thousand years are as a day…a couple of days isn’t much time at all.

It may not be happening now…but it will happen soon.
