Surfing is a dance between certainty and the unpredictable.
The certainty of the laws of physics, the dimensions of your surfboard, the movement of your feet and the feeling of the cold salty spray on your back…
And the uncertainty of the wind, the waves and the sharks stalking the depths a hundred feet beneath your feet.
The challenge is to keep your feet planted on what you know to be true, and use the stance to manoeuvre all that’s chopping and changing around you.
That’s the image evoked by the word “Surely” for me.
No matter how things appear or are being experienced, “Surely” is an invitation to stay on the surfboard of God’s promise to you…and ride the waves.
Surely He shall deliver thee.
Surely.
No doubt.
Surely.
Stay on your surfboard and ride the waves.
