Moving at the speed of trust

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. – Psalm 91:4

Feathers, wings and trust are mentioned in the same breath in this verse.

Feathers and wings give you flight.

Flight equals speed.

Speed is distance moved over time.

A fast speed is a great distance moved in a short period of time.

Flight means you are covering distance over time.

And at the root of this is trusting in God.

Distrust creates friction, second-guessing of intentions and scrambles communication channels.

From Stephen M.R. Covey’s book The Speed of Trust:

In a high-trust relationship, you can say the wrong thing, and people will still get your meaning. In a low-trust relationship, you can be very measured, even precise, and they’ll still misinterpret you.

The key is to lean into trusting God, trusting His word, and positioning yourself to be vulnerable to attack without Him.

Trust is the key.
