But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: – Philippians 2:7
The greatest event in the history of mankind, was the moment when Jesus paid the price to reconcile God and man.
Man had rebelled against his Creator and handed over his authority to a rebellious Angel called Lucifer.
This single act caused Man to be separated from God and introduced a spiritual cancer called Sin into the world.
Through Sin came death in all it’s various forms such as disease, depression, dysfunction and disorder.
Creation had become corrupted.
Lucifer the Angel became Satan the Adversary, hell-bent on dragging as many humans into an eternity separated from the Author of life.
The image and likeness of God had become perverted into a lesser creature driven by the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.
Death reigned supreme and Man’s bright spark had all but dwindled to a flicker of a flame…
And then came Jesus.
In the fullness of time.
At the perfect point in history.
And He paid the price to reconcile God to Man.
All sins forgiven.
The wrath of God against Sin fully satisfied.
Death’s sting broken in Jesus’ body on the Cross and rendered ineffective when He rose again on the 3rd day.
God the Just One was now free to simply love you…the way He’d always intended to.
And all you have to do is simply believe on Jesus and surrender to Him as Lord.
You and God are now one.
The greatest thing that ever happened to Mankind.
And how did it happen?
By Jesus making Himself of no reputation.
Made empty.
Rendered useless and of no effect.
He did His greatest work by stripping Himself of all the recognition, acknowledgment and validation that was rightfully His.
He did His greatest work whilst looking like the greatest failure who ever lived.
He did His greatest work by taking full responsibility for Man’s Sin and giving away all the Credit gained through His sacrifice.
He did His greatest work by taking on the form of a servant…even though He was by very nature God.
That’s how He did His greatest work…and it’s also how you’ll do yours.
